NaNoWriMo Chapter Four of John and the Bible Time Travel Machine by Stacy Duplease of Stories by Stacy

Chapter 4

"ARE GOD AND THE BIBLE true?" Fallon tried to get them to get straight to the point. The four appeared fine and she had to know.

"Absolutely. More than you can imagine." Erin smiled and appeared to be a very different woman, Fallon noticed. She changed and was not the same anymore and Fallon could only imagine what caused the transformation.

"Nope. But, it was a pretty neat hallucination." Adora shared her viewpoint.

"See." Caleb glanced at Adora. "That's where we differ. I don't think it was a hallucination. I think what we saw was very real, but I don't think it proved God or the Bible were true. In fact, I think it can be argued that it showed Jesus was a wise teacher or speaker, but was not the Son o God. I also think we can say with confidence the Bible needs to be taken far more seriously than we give it credit for today. It's at least a book of great wisdom we shouldn't dismiss or overlook."

Fallon glanced at Daniel and he fell to his knees and started to sob. Once he pulled himself together, and wiped the tears from his cheeks, he was able to speak. "We saw Jesus, Fallon. We actually saw Him. Kind of. We also heard His voice and were able to watch the entire book of John come to life. It was amazing. The only problem was we were not allowed to record anything and our computers were busted. However, God told us we could return at any time. All we needed to have was the faith of a mustard seed and the kind of faith that can move mountains."

Erin chuckled and looked from Daniel to Fallon. "We aren't entirely sure what that means, but evidently, we don't need the machine at this end any longer. Our faith is out Bible Time Machine now."

"Yeah, so if it is true, then the A-Team won't make it back and we will. That will be the test and will be all the proof you need." Daniel pointed out to Fallon.

Adora shook her head and glanced from Daniel to Caleb. "I have the feeling they might ever be able to return, if anyone can't. Nonetheless, I think the A-Team will be able to make it back. We have a far more open mind and look at things from a very different perspective. That's our greatest asset and will be what takes us far. I do agree, though, that what we saw was life-changing and we need to fully explore it." She shared her opinion about the BTTM experience.

"And that's precisely why you won't be going back, guys. You'll see. Your smugness has no validity to it whatsoever and you're also completely blind and don't even know it." Daniel pointed out to them.

Fallon stared at them and could tell that there was a great deal more closeness between the two A-Team members and the two G-Team members. She also sensed there was a great deal more friction between the two teams. She couldn't help but wonder why. "How long were you guys gone?"

The four stared at her and she had the impression she was out of her mind. "Do you really not know?" Erin's forehead crinkled as studied her friend.

"Do we not know what?" Billy was the one who spoke next and made a united front with Fallon.

The four glanced at one another and had confused expressions on their faces. "We were gone a little over three years." Daniel explained to them. "Can't you see how we've changed?"

Fallon and Billy studied them. "No, we can't see, as a matter of fact."

"You look the exact same." Billy agreed with Fallon.

The four looked at each other again and frowned. "I see they're right, We haven't looked like this in years." Adora agreed with their observation. "then again, you two look the same. How long has passed since you saw us last?"

"About a second." Billy was quick to respond.

"How is that possible?" Erin sounded befuddled by the information.

"We'll discuss that in a while. Are you tired or do you need food? What about medical attention?" Fallon wanted to make sure they were okay before they continued.

Erin was the first to reply to her question. "The only thing I think we need is about a week for a break so we can log everything we went through. Then, I'll need about a month to write the synopsis. We could use more time than that, however. We just went from the most primitive time in which a person could live and are now here in modern-day America again. We need to adjust. It's rather a shock to my system, I know that."

"Do you need more assistants to help you record everything or will your two each due?" Fallon wanted to make sure their needs were met for the BTTM project.

"I think there's a more pressing issue at hand." Adora shared with Fallon and Billy.

"What's that?" Billy wanted to know.

"We need to compile not just a log, but an assessment of our experience in the Bible times. Hence, that will require about another month. At that point, let's revisit the project and come together. There's too much we need to do before we continue." Adora explained to Fallon.

Fallon looked Adora in the eye. "Very well. Should Billy and I rejoin our teams or stay on the outside looking in?"

"I think it would be wise for the teams to get together and work together for three months before we figure out where to go from here. At this point, let's keep our assistants and do what we need to do." Adora gave her suggestion.

They worked out of a three-story building with one basement level. The first floor were the administrative offices, the conference room, and their lunch room. The basement floor had the three-stages of the BTTM and were where they were now. The second floor was the A-Team's floor and the third floor was the G-Team's floor. In order for the A-Team to enter the G-Team's floor, or vice versa, the security restrictions required the escort of one of that floor's team members. Hence, they would be able to work for the next three months without interruption from the other team.

"Very well, then." Fallon didn't argue. It seemed the point was moot since the for seemed to have equal agreement about that factor. It was a great deal longer than what Fallon wanted, but she waited seven years already, so three months wasn't too much longer to wait.
