Chapter 5 of John and the Bible Time Machine (Day 2 of NaNoWriMo) by Stacy Duplease of Stories by Stacy, LLC

Chapter 5

"WHAT ON EARTH HAPPENED?" FALLON requested a synopsis of what really transpired and not on the agreed upon response from Daniel and Erin.

Her tone showed how she was annoyed. She felt frustrated she had to wait three months to hear what the other side thought and before she could have the account of their experience. However, she would make the next three count for her team.

It made Erin cringe, Fallon noted, as Erin tried to figure out how she could possible respond in such a manner it would make sense to their team and project leader. "The truth of the matter is it would be difficult to describe what really transpired. Words minimized what we encountered too much. Experience, on the other hand, is everything, Fal."

"I agree." Daniel was quick to point out to her.

Fallon stared at her friend and barely recognized Erin. She was more peaceful than Fallon had ever seen her. She seemed whole and not just merely getting by in life as she had before because of her rough life circumstances. "Will you, please, try. I would prefer if you could tell me from the very beginning as well. Would you mind?"

"We saw God. We saw Christ. We saw His crucifixion and resurrection. We saw the empty tomb and Him come back after His resurrection. We saw that and everything in between, Fallon." Erin sounded a little more like her excitable self now.

"But, there was so much more to it than observing the Book of John happen in real-time, like the television show, 24. It was truly the most amazing thing I've ever seen or experienced. I can't help but be tremendously sad after experiencing His glory and now being removed from it. I'm a mess." Daniel broke down in tears and Erin wrapped her arms around him.

"I feel the same way, darling. The exact same way." Erin tried to calm the man down and Fallon could not help but notice how it seemed the two were now lovers.

Fallon wasn't sure what to think at this point or what was more befuddling. Was it how they were a couple or how they were so drastically different in nature than they were before they left? She really didn't care to be on the outside looking in with her own project. She now regretted not putting her foot down to go in the first place. She did not doubt they saw God. She sensed His glory in them, around them, and through them. He was at work and Fallon couldn't deny the fact.

She had a theory a long time ago that hell was the absence of God experienced after a person saw God and gave an accounting for their life before He sentenced them to live eternally in hell. Hence, were they now living in hell? Why had she missed this and not taken this into account before she sent them? Would they be able to recover from it and would they be able to tell her from start to finish what happened?

"He warned us it was far more important for us to stay in the Word and to remain as near to Jesus as we can. He told us to also pray a lot. Between the Word and prayer, we can focus so much of our time and energy that we won't have the room to miss Him too terribly." Erin reminded Daniel and he nodded slightly in agreement with her comment.

Fallon felt like they were talking in riddles and didn't make too much sense. Was it because she wasn't there? It was still rather befuddling to her how they were there for almost three years. They lived an additional three years of their lives and she wasn't part of it. They were like family and had become that way the last five years (in her perspective of time) and she felt disappointed on a personal level as well, never mind the professional level. "So, can you give me a synopsis?" She wanted to feel hopeful.

"We spoke to John himself. The actual writer of the Book of John in the Bible. We also saw him. Although, you need to understand what I mean by saw him. The faces of everyone we saw were blurry and we could not see facial features. But, through what they said and did, and from what we read from the Bible, we were able to figure out who was who." Daniel explained to Fallon.

Of course Fallon didn't fully comprehend much of anything they shared; however, she hoped if she hung in there, it would become abundantly clear over time. "So, do you want to go back?"

"Yes! The moment we take care of everything here over the next three months, we do want to go back. It was too remarkable to never go back. I will spend my lifetime studying the word in this manner. The Word becomes alive and Christ is the one who does that. He is the Word and the word is alive and active." Erin shared her perspective with Fallon.

"Me, too." Daniel agreed with Erin.

Fallon was glad she just came up with an idea. "Tell me about your experience. We can get our assistants to record everything you say. Just share it with me."

"Oh, this must sound weird to you and be frustrating with how we went through so much and it only appeared to you that we were gone a second." Erin shared what was on her mind with her friend. "But, alas, I think we like your suggestion. Daniel, where do you think we should start?"

Daniel looked from Erin to Fallon. "I think we should start with how Adora and Caleb are an item and how we can't trust them at all. They want to destroy the project. remember the verse, 1 Corinthians 2:14 from the NIV which states, 'The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.' That quickly became apparent when we were in the Bible times with Adora and Caleb. They grew more tarnished and more set against God and the Bible the longer they spent over there. It was quite a problem, really."

"But, here's what happened." Erin started to tell Fallon what they went through in the Bible times and how the Book of John was far more powerful than they realized.
