Chapter 19
“I’M SO GLAD WE WERE able to swipe Fallon and keep her here. Now, we have the project right where we want it.” Caleb shared his thoughts with Adora.
“Precisely. Now, we can take it over for ourselves and share the real truth about God and if the others do come back here; although, it’s now looking very likely at this point, with what we share with the public, and the results we show them we’ve had, no one will believe them. Not for a minute.” Adora was thrilled with how everything finally came together. It was better than she hoped, after all, and she was sure glad for good luck.
Caleb snickered at the thought. “It will take us a while to write up our findings, but after that, there will be nothing to stop us. We should make TV appearances and get book deals. We can sell our own book or books individually and then also as a couple or as a group, we can write just as many. That way, we are able to double our profit.”
“You bring up a very interesting point, Mr. Deverell.” Adora was glad he mentioned that aspect of their money-making possibilities. She hadn’t even thought of the opportunity, but had thought of giving lectures at all the major universities. That makes money. Also, they could do other paid speaking engagements, write journal and magazine articles for profit, and never mind doing a blog to help spread the news for advertising.
That didn’t even include their donors and all the money they would receive from them to continue to prove how God doesn’t exist. They could become multimillionaires because of what they discovered.
“Yes, you definitely have a point.” Adora put her hand on his forearm and looked him in the eye.
“I thought so.” He leaned closer to her. “What do you want to do with our hostages?”
“They aren’t hostages, Caleb. They’re just tied up so we can—encourage them to listen and see things our way.” Adora tried to show him the difference between what he said and their real intentions.
Caleb chuckled again when she said what she did. “Oh. Pardon me. So, when are we going to engage in conversation with our friends?”
“See, that sounds so much better and is much more appropriate. Now, by the way, sounds like a good idea. It looks like they’re bright eyed and bushy tailed this fine morning.” She pointed to the monitor where she saw them moving slightly and chatting to one another. “However, you need to know that if Erin and Daniel reappear, I don’t want us to be found. I’m moving our operation. I plan on permanently borrowing their donor funds and moving locations to another state or country. I won’t say where, but we’ll be taken care of and won’t be found.”
“Okay.” Caleb didn’t hesitate. He trusted her implicitly and would do anything for her and she was well aware of the fact and used it to her advantage every opportune time.
“Let’s go see them.” Adora tried to get him to follow her by making a slight gesture toward the door with her head. He didn’t get it so she took him by the hand instead and he was easy to steer after the gesture.
“SO, DO YOU WANT TO know why the others didn’t join you?” Daniel’s guide asked him. “And, do you want to know why you’re not getting half as much out of this trip than your last?”
Daniel still thought it was weird to know he talked with his dead self. However, it didn’t go against the Bible that way. If angels talked to him, it would go against the Bible—contrary to the lie some people believe. If other ghosts talked to him, that would go against and contradict the Bible because there is no such thing as ghosts. There are demons, yes, but not ghosts. Nope. No friendly ghosts. Only evil dark and creepy ones existed in reality.
Nonetheless, if he gave himself advice, that would not be contrary to what the Bible teaches. The people in heaven watch and know everything happening on earth. He had some time to think on these things and was glad he did. Therefore, he understood why God would allow it to happen.
“Of course I want to know why the others aren’t here and why this visit seems—dull at best. I hope that isn’t offensive to you or to God.” Daniel responded to his guide’s inquiry. He realized what he said might be considered rude. Oops.
“You know why Adora and Caleb didn’t make it here.”
“Because they don’t believe so they don’t have spiritual discernment or understanding?”
“Precisely.” Daniel’s guide confirmed his suspicions. “Now, what about Fallon and Billy?”
“I would say the same about Billy, but Fallon… I’m not sure.” He thought about his response for a minute. “Maybe she didn’t have enough faith and had too much doubt.” It was a guess.
“Both would be accurate. However, there’s one more key part you don’t know about. She was attacked by Adora.”
“WHAT?” Daniel practically screamed.
“She would have made it otherwise. It would have taken her longer, but she would have been successful.” The guide shared with Daniel.
“Is she okay?”
“She was hit over the head and that’s all I’m allowed to say to you. But, you need to know, the enemy is at work as we speak. This brings me to the other portion of information you need to know. The reason why this visit is not as powerful as the last is because you need to change your perception. You need to focus more on God, stay in the Word, and pray. That way, you don’t have room for anything else in your life or in your mind to prevent you form drawing as close to Him as possible.” The guide tried to give Daniel some insight.
Daniel thought about what he learned and couldn’t disagree with the suggestion. Everything in life could be answered with a great deal more prayer and remaining in the Word (the Holy Bible). It was the only answer.
“You also wonder when you are going to return to the modern-day.” The guide addressed one of Daniel’s concerns.
“I sure do.”
“Once you learn the answers you need to learn first, you will then return. But, it won’t be a moment sooner. So, take in the word as much as you are able.” The guide encouraged Daniel. “Try to think less and observe more. Then, once you see, feel, hear, smell, and taste everything, you’re ready to think and try to remember everything to the absolute fullest. Open up your senses, Daniel.”
